Point Zero
Acupuncture

At Point Zero Acupuncture, with Dr. Heather Yoo DACM, L.Ac, we are committed to optimizing your health by introducing acupuncture as a vital part of our integrated approach.

Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient medicine started in China approximately four thousand years ago and it was used in many other areas of the world by the late 20th century. It was introduced to the American public 50 years ago during President Nixon administration and it began to be practiced in hospitals, pain clinics, fertility clinics, mental institutes, and drug treatment center across the country as complementary and alternative medicine.

Acupuncture aims to alleviate pain and restore balance in the body by stimulating hundreds of points located over meridians, circulating Qi (vital energy), sending signals that reduce inflammation, inhibit pain pathways, stimulate neurotransmitters like endogenous opioids, serotonin, glutamate, and induces relaxation and lower stress and anxiety levels.

Through the insertion and manipulation of fine needles into specific points on your body, it can restore balance and harmony within the human mind, body, and spirit. The procedures also promote blood flow to the injured areas, accelerating healing time and reducing anxiety and stress, fostering a better recovery environment. Integrating acupuncture into your life enhances physical and emotional well-being. Traditional Chinese Medicine includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, fire cupping, lifestyle modification, infrared heat therapy, food therapy, ear seed, and Tui Na massage.

Reviews

I struggled with chronic lower back pain and persistent fatigue, which made me feel resigned to accepting it as normal and losing hope for my previous healthy life. However, everything changed when I met Dr. Heather. She listened to my concerns attentively and wasted no time in providing me with an acupuncture session. It's been almost a year since our first meeting, and I'm grateful for the positive changes her treatment plan, combining acupuncture and herbal medicines, has brought into my life. Now, I wake up feeling more energized each day and no longer spend my days battling fatigue. If you find yourself in a similar situation, grappling with a chronic illness, know that you don't have to face it alone. Heather is here to help. I highly recommend visiting Dr. Heather Yoo.

A couple of weeks ago, I tweaked my lower back. I was hunched over for a couple of days and the pain was persistent. I decided to try Acupuncture and I'm so glad I did. Dr. Heather Yoo was patient, attentive, caring, and most of all, super effective. I felt relief and could straighten out my back the same day I received treatment. Dr. Heather Yoo provides services of the highest quality. I came into her office with acute stomach pains, soreness, and high levels of stress. After our brief consult, Dr. Yoo provided multiple forms of treatments to offer relief. This included fire cupping, targeted acupuncture, guasha, and heat therapy. After my sessions my muscles seemed much looser and without the tightness I was previously experiencing. Furthermore, I noticed a sharp decrease in my stress levels and my stomach pains became less intense. I even slept much better than usual following my treatments!

I came to see Dr. Heather Yoo with shoulder pain from a mild sprain. The consult, though brief, was very comprehensive and holistic. In addition to attending to my shoulder, she asked about my health as a whole, such as my energy levels and stress levels. The fire cupping session provided tremendous relief to my shoulder pain and I was able to gain additional range of motion immediately after the session was over. I went in for another treatment session with acupuncture for residual tightness after the pain had subsided. I was able to regain my full range of motion just two days after treatment. It is remarkable! The amount of attention and patience Dr. Yoo gives to her patients shows how much she cares, I highly recommend seeing her.

Recently had the pleasure of visiting Point Zero Acupuncture for skin care treatment, and I can’t recommend them enough! The range of treatments offered is impressive. I opted for a personalized facial, neck, and winkle treatment, which all were tailored to my specific skin needs. Dr. Heather Yoo took the time to analyze my skin and explained each step of the process, which I really appreciated. The results have been nothing short of amazing. After just a three sessions, my skin is visibly clearer, more radiant, firm and glowing. I noticed a significant reduction in blemishes and improved texture.Dr. Yoo was exceptional. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about helping clients achieve their best skin. Each visit felt like a mini retreat, making self-care a delightful experience rather than just another appointment. I love treatments with Dr. Yoo so much that I even brought my 75 year old mother for facial micro-needling. Her skin looks just amazing. I can’t wait for my next appointment!

I saw Dr. Heather Yoo recently due to a foot injury of mine. I was not sure how I injured it, but I was in great pain and she knew exactly the right questions to ask. She explained to me how my pain may have originated, and how she was going to treat it very clearly. After my session, I started feeling the impact of her treatment. I could feel the relief a few hours later and the next day my pain had reduced significantly. Dr. Heather Yoo is a very kind provider and is truly invested in her patients' care. She followed up with me after my treatment to see how I was doing. I personally recommend her services to anybody seeking acupuncture or Eastern medicine treatments!
