Point Zero
Acupuncture

At Point Zero Acupuncture, with Dr. Heather Yoo DACM, L.Ac, we are committed to optimizing your health by introducing acupuncture as a vital part of our integrated approach.

Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient medicine started in China approximately four thousand years ago and it was used in many other areas of the world by the late 20th century. It was introduced to the American public 50 years ago during President Nixon administration and it began to be practiced in hospitals, pain clinics, fertility clinics, mental institutes, and drug treatment center across the country as complementary and alternative medicine.

Acupuncture aims to alleviate pain and restore balance in the body by stimulating hundreds of points located over meridians, circulating Qi (vital energy), sending signals that reduce inflammation, inhibit pain pathways, stimulate neurotransmitters like endogenous opioids, serotonin, glutamate, and induces relaxation and lower stress and anxiety levels.

Through the insertion and manipulation of fine needles into specific points on your body, it can restore balance and harmony within the human mind, body, and spirit. The procedures also promote blood flow to the injured areas, accelerating healing time and reducing anxiety and stress, fostering a better recovery environment. Integrating acupuncture into your life enhances physical and emotional well-being. Traditional Chinese medicine includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, fire cupping, lifestyle modification, food therapy, ear seed, and Tui Na massage.

Reviews

I struggled with chronic lower back pain and persistent fatigue, which made me feel resigned to accepting it as normal and losing hope for my previous healthy life. However, everything changed when I met Dr. Heather. She listened to my concerns attentively and wasted no time in providing me with an acupuncture session. It's been almost a year since our first meeting, and I'm grateful for the positive changes her treatment plan, combining acupuncture and herbal medicines, has brought into my life. Now, I wake up feeling more energized each day and no longer spend my days battling fatigue. If you find yourself in a similar situation, grappling with a chronic illness, know that you don't have to face it alone. Heather is here to help. I highly recommend visiting Dr. Heather Yoo.
